things to do
-
Multnomah Falls – Iconic waterfall. You drive past it on your way from Portland to Hood River. Worth a quick stop!
-
Hood Crest Winery – Laid-back spot with wood-fired pizza, live music, and great wine.
-
Mosier Twin Tunnels Trail – Easy paved walk/bike ride with epic Columbia River views.
-
Hood River Waterfront Park – A nice place to walk around and watch all of the windsurfers on the gorge!
-
Fruit Loop Drive – Scenic 35-mile loop through orchards, lavender farms, and u-pick stands.
-
Windsurfing or Kiteboarding Lessons – Hood River is world-famous for it. If you plan to spend an extra day, it's totally worth it. We took a windsurfing lesson and it was so fun!
-
Timberline Lodge – About an hour drive south of Hood River, but absolutely worth seeing this icon on Mount Hood if you plan to spend more time around the area. Tons of gorgeous hiking trails, too.
